Mixing No Wave with Black Metal, EuroDance with Grunge, and Noise Rock with Hip Hop; Deathcrush’s first ever album MEGAZONE is unrestrained, primal, and surprisingly catchy. This is current occulture you can dance to.

Neither nostalgic or historyless, tracks like EGO, Dumb and State of the Union, reflect on the absurd reality we’ve inherited and continue to live in, the reigning idiotic egoism, and what it’s got to do with you and me.

The name MEGAZONE might be referencing the 90s laser tag game, or MegaZone23 – the Japanese animated TV-series or its 2000s video game version, to which the Matrix bears strong similarities. Maybe it’s a very Deathcrush way of (laser-)pointing to Descartes’ Evil Demon, where the perceived world might be a comprehensive illusion created to deceive us. Maybe it is a rally cry. A status report? Or maybe the songs are all questions we should be able to answer by now?

«Sweat, battery acid energy and gritty guitars — The trio delivers energy as if all members just ate AA batteries and turn the whole crowd electric. Deathcrush is without a doubt a band you will hear more from in the future.» MTV(EU), Roskilde

“Deathcrush are one of the coolest bands I’ve ever seen… they have created riot music for the 21st century. (…) Watch out South By South West. You are Tokyo. Deathcrush are Godzilla.” John Doran, The Quietus
